Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut who is known for her controversial statements is not happy with the Centre's decision to repeal the three contentious farm laws which prime minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday. While the whole nation is celebrating the farmers' victory, Ranaut took to Instagram and expressed her disappointment.

Sharing a person's tweet about the repeal, Kangana on her Instagram page wrote, "Sad, shameful, absolutely unfair. If people on the streets have started to make laws and not the chosen government in the Parliament, then even this is a jihadi nation. Congratulations to all who wanted it like this."

In a second post, she shared a picture of late former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. "When the conscience of the nation is in deep sleep, lath (the cane) is the only solution and dictatorship is the only resolution… Happy birthday Madam Prime Minister," she wrote as Friday also marks the 104th birth anniversary of the former PM.

Meanwhile several other celebrities hailed the Centre's decision and took to their social media accounts to express their happiness.

Sharing the news of PM Modi withdrawing farm laws, Actress Tapsee Pannu wrote, "Also.. Gurpurab diyaan sab nu vadhaiyaan (sic)," with a folded hand emoji.

Calling it a wonderful news, Sonu Sood wrote "This is a wonderful news! Thank you, @narendramodi ji, @PMOIndia, for taking back the farm laws. Thank you, farmers, for raising just demands through peaceful protests. Hope you will happily return to be with your families on the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji today."

Retweeting Bhupinder Chaudhary's tweet, Richa Chadha called it a victory for farmers. She wrote, "Jeet gaye aap! Aap ki jeet sab ki jeet hai (You've won. Your win is everyone's win)."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced the scrapping of three farm laws, which triggered protests by the farmers. Addressing the nation, the Prime Minister said that his government has always worked for the welfare of the farmers.

Hailing the laws as pathbreaking for the agriculture sector, PM Modi said multiple rounds of talk were held to end farmers' protest but a section refused to budge.

He also urged the farmers to now end their protest and head home.
