Hyderabad: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s branding of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) as a ‘B team of the BJP’ in Telangana.

Taking a dig at the congress leader, Reddy said that Rahul has ‘gone overboard’ following the electoral win Karnataka, NDTV reported.

Accusing the congress of compromising with BRS, the minister made it clear that the BJP will not form any alliance with either party.

‘Congress fought the election in Telangana by compromising with BRS. We will not ally with BRS or Congress. He (Rahul Gandhi) is going overboard and speaking, just because they won one election in Karnataka,’ Reddy was quoted as saying.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi told a gathering in Khammam that the Congress defeated the BJP in Karnataka and would defeat its B-team in Telanagna.

‘In Telangana, it is a fight between the Congress and the BJP's B team, BRS. Like we defeated the BJP in Karnataka, similarly, we'll defeat their B team in Telangana’ Rahul was quoted as saying.

Rahul said that the Congress would not make ‘ a settlement with the BJP’s team’ , adding that his party had told Opposition front that it would not participate a meeting where BRS was invited.

BRS leader Dasoju Sravan called out Rahul’s speech terming it’s a ‘bundle of lies’, adding that the Congress leader was speaking from script prepared by the Congress workers in Telangana.

Assembly polls in Telangana will be held later this year, with the BJP and the Congress are eyeing to snatch votes of regional parties in the state.
