Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal said that women in Punjab will receive Rs 1000 per month while speaking in Moga. He announced that money will be spent on people's welfare if AAP is elected in Punjab. He was launching the Party's 'Mission Punjab" for the 2022 Assembly Polls.

Mr Kejriwal stressed the need for social security, education, and better healthcare for women. He said that the monthly allowance will be given to women above the age of 18. Women in Punjab will receive the grant regardless of their age and other benefits like pension and salary reported by The Tribune.

"If elected, the AAP will snub all types of mafias patronised by the incumbent and ex-CMs and generate revenue sources to fill the state coffers. The money raised by streamlining the system of taxes will be spent on people's welfare," said the Delhi CM.

He also criticised the current Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Channi saying that he is trying to replicate the policies of the Delhi Government. Mr Kejriwal also announced to set up a corporation and introduce an online system for redressal of auto and taxi drivers' issues.

AAP has estimated that the new scheme will benefit approximately one crore women. There were 96.19 lakh women, voters, in Punjab during the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. If the party wins in Punjab and goes on to fulfil the promise, the state government will be paying Rs 1,000 crore per month and Rs 12 crore every year.

Mr Kejriwal addressed the budget concern and said that there is no dearth of money with any government and all that is required is the intention to work for people, reported The Indian Express.
