New Delhi: In the first address she gave after his detention, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita read out a statement on Saturday in which the chief minister of Delhi stated that he has devoted every moment of his life to serving the nation.

The Chief Minister of Delhi declared in a message from jail that "no bar can keep me inside and I will soon return."

To the members of APP, he adviseds, "Don't hate BJP members because of my arrest; they are our brothers."

"My dear countrymen I have been arrested. Whether I am inside the jail or not, I will continue to serve the country. My entire life is dedicated to the country. I have struggled a lot in my life, and I know that this will continue. Therefore, this arrest has not surprised me'," Sunita read out the letter written by the Delhi CM, the New Indian Express reported.

In a major challenge for the leader of the 2013 anti-corruption movement and his AAP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was remanded in the Enforcement Department's custody until March 28 on Friday. A day earlier, the central agency had arrested Kejriwal in connection with a money laundering case related to the alleged excise policy "scam."

Kejriwal was taken into custody on Thursday, following his refusal to appear before the Enforcement Department (ED) on nine separate occasions to address alleged irregularities in the formulation and execution of the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021–2022, which was ultimately cancelled due to accusations of corruption.

Kaveri Baweja, the special judge overseeing PMLA cases, directed the ED to return Kejriwal to court on March 28 at 2:00 p.m.
