Kerala woman sends a letter in 434 metre long paper, May find a place in Guinness records

A Kerala woman who forgot to wish her brother on International Brothers Day tried to reconcile with him by writing a letter on a 434-metre-long paper. It took her 12 hours to complete the letter and it weighs 5 kg.

The letter may soon find a place in the Guinness World Records as the longest letter ever written.

Krishnapriya said her brother stopped taking her calls and blocked her on WhatsApp after she forgot to extend greetings on Brothers Day this year. Realising that he must have been hurt she decided to convey her love through a letter.

She told the media that she began by writing on A4 size sheets but soon realised they are not sufficient to convey her emotions. So, she went to the market to buy longer sheets and the sellers suggested billing rolls. Krishnapriya purchased 14 rolls.

Krishnapriya is an engineer and her brother Krishnaprasad is a fourth-year engineering student. There is a seven-year age gap between the siblings. "He respects me and fears me like a mother or a teacher," said the woman.

She added that her brother is very attached and shares a very friendly relationship. "Growing up, we were like twins and wore the same colour clothes on special family occasions".

Krishnaprasad told the media that receiving the letter made him very happy. "I was hurt and disappointed when she did not wish me on Brother's Day this year. I called her later in the day, but she was busy with work. I did not speak for long and ended the call. Thereafter, I blocked her on WhatsApp."

He added that his sister must have felt bad about what happened which led her to write the letter. After the siblings reconciled, Krishnapriya sent an application to be added to the Guinness World Records.
