New Delhi: MP in Loka Sabha, Hanuman Beniwal, attempted to enter the Speaker's podium on Thursday while the opposition MPs were sloganeering against a recent Parliament security breach, PTI reports.
The Parliament had resumed at 2 pm after adjournment, and the opposition gathered at the Well. They demanded Union Home Minister Amit Shah's presence in the House regarding the security breach and started raising slogans.
At the time, Hanuman Beniwal, standing next to the Secretary General's chair, tried to scale the several feet high Speaker's podium.
Lok Sabha adopted a resolution suspending five Congress MPs before adjourning at 3 pm. The motion was made by B Mahtab, who was chairing the proceedings.
The suspended MLAs were named by Speaker Om Birla.
The Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice on Thursday. Once, during the first hour, opposition MPs held vociferous protests and trooped into the Well of the House demanding a discussion on the previous day's Parliament security breach issue.
Soon after the security breach on Wednesday, Om Birla had ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident. Birla asserted that the security of the Parliament complex is the responsibility of the Lok Sabha Secretariat.

Soon after the House met in the morning, Chairman Dhankhar disallowed as many as 28 notices served by opposition MPs, who sought the suspension of business for the day to discuss the "grave breach of security" on December 13 when a man jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber, shouted slogans and set off a smoke can.
On Wednesday, two people jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the visitors' gallery, shouted slogans and released yellow-coloured smoke from canisters that triggered panic and chaos in the House.
