Maharashtra BJP chief rules out alliance with Sena for 2024 Assembly polls

Mumbai: The bitter differences between the BJP and Shiv Sena over the power-sharing after the last Assembly election in Maharashtra, leading to the breakup of their alliance is seen unlikely to be patched up shortly with the BJP state president Chandrakant Patil's statement that the party has no alliance plan with Sena for the 2024 Assembly elections.
Addressing the party workers in Amaravati, Patil said that the BJP is eyeing to get to the state power on its own without any power-sharing alliances with Sena. The party is working to consolidate its structure to come to power in 2024, he said.
In Maharashtra, the BJP has an alliance with the Republican Party of India (Athavale), Shiv Sangram, Ryat Kranti and Rashtriya Samaj Party. Patil said the BJP will have an alliance only with these parties.
He also dared Sena to contest against the BJP without any allies in the Vidarbha region where he claimed that the party has strongholds and is the largest party. The Sena made its presence there with BJP's help, he said adding the Sena has no existence with the BJP.
