Maharashtra drops all lockdown restrictions

The Maharashtra government on Saturday lifted all lockdown restrictions in the state with conditions. All economic, social, cultural, sports and entertainment activities have been allowed, as prior to the pandemic, with emphasis on full vaccination.

In a 5-page long order, Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte said that strict observance of Covid appropriate behaviour shall remain mandatory.

Access to public transport, malls, shops, establishments, ticketed or non-tickets events, programmes, shows, public gatherings, shall be allowed only for the fully vaccinated. Organisers of gatherings and events must also be fully vaccinated. Those flying to the state from international locations shall continue to be governed by Central government rules. Domestic passengers, meanwhile, need only be fully vaccinated or carry a negative RT-PCR report taken within 72 hours.
