Mumbai: Sunil Jadhav, a farmer in Maharashtra’s Jalna district, made himself buried in the mud in protest for not having the documents of land that has been allotted to him under a welfare scheme in Maharashtra over three years ago.

Jadhav was allotted two acres of land in 2019 under the Karmaveer Dadasaheb Gaikwad Sablikaran Swabhiman Scheme, but he claimed the documents of land possession have not yet been received.

He tried a unique protest to get the attention of the authorities with a determination to remain buried till the papers are handed over to him.

It is common for people to choose different modes of protest to convey their protest. During the protest against the Centre's now-withdrawn farm laws at Delhi's borders two years ago, the farmers made a strong statement by organizing a blood donation camp.

Earlier this year, a man took a bath in a ditch filled with water on the road in Kerala to protest against potholes. He was also filmed washing his clothes.
