Man orders Rs 90,000 camera lens but gets quinoa seeds from Amazon
text_fieldsNew Delhi: A man who placed an order for a camera lens on Amazon received quinoa seeds in delivery package.
Arun Kumar Meher took to Twitter to share his dismay at receiving a strange item for his order placed on July 5, NDTV reported.
After Meher ordered a Sigma 24-70f2.8 lens on Amazon, the package he received the next day was not meant for him.
The box was delivered as opened and inside there it contained quinoa seeds.
Mix-ups during online product delivery are often reported with customers receiving strange items.
Meher called the incident a ‘ big scam’ on Twitter adding that ‘'Ordered a 90K INR Camera lens from Amazon, they have sent a lens box with a packet of quinoa seeds inside instead of the lens. Big scam by @amazonIN and Appario Retail. The lens box was also opened. Solve it asap.’
Meher added the pictures of the seeds he received in the package.
‘@amazonIN @amazon is saying they are investigating the case, but how come this happened in the first place. This is totally unacceptable, please solve it asap and send me the lens I ordered or refund my money,’ he was quoted as remarking.
Amazon however did not wait to respond to the grievance of the customer, reaching out to him, ‘ we get you’re upset’, the message said
It further added that, ‘We'd like to help you with this, please reach out to us via DM. We will do our best to assist. Further, please don't provide your order/account details over DM as we consider them to be personal information.’
NDTV reported that another customer previously complained of receiving a fake wristwatch for her order on Amazon for Apple watch for Rs 50,000 on July 8.
