Kalaburagi (Karnataka): Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday said that he already knew Bihar CM Nitish Kumar would cross over to the BJP alliance.

Kharge’s response comes shortly after Nitish Kumar left the INDIA bloc, stunning the Opposition leadership.

The congress leader said that had known from Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav about Nitish Kumar ‘s decision to leave the alliance.

‘Earlier he and us were fighting together. When I talked to Lalu Ji and Tejashwi, they also said that Nitish is going. If he wanted to stay, he would have stayed but he wants to go. That's why we already knew this, but to keep the India Alliance intact, if we say something wrong, the wrong message will be sent. This information was already given to us by Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. Today that came true. There are many people in the country like 'Aaya Ram-Gaya Ram,'’ Kharge was quoted as saying.

After a meeting of Janata Dal (United), the party president Nitish Kumar met Governor Rajendra Arlekar on Sunday and handed over resignation.

Nitish Kumar has dissolved the 'Mahagathbandhan' rule in the state, just as the Opposition is getting ready to take on the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls .

It began to spill out after RJD chief Lalu Yadav's daughter, Rohini Acharya hinted that the JD(U)’s ideology ‘shifts with changing wind patterns’ nevertheless claims to be progressive.

Following the serious political development in the state, Janata Party legislative party meeting is taking place in Patna .

Meanwhile, the RJD on Sunday ran advertisement in the newspapers of the state projecting Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.

The full-page advertisement thanked the deputy Chief Minister for various development initiatives including 4 lakh government jobs to enhancing the state's tourism potential.
