Map in Congress video ‘ anti-national act’: Himanta Biswa Sarma
text_fieldsGuwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday alleged that Congress bartered away the Northeast to a "foreign country', news agency ANI reported.
Sarma was referring to the map of India that the grand old party had shared on X, in which the entire Northeast region was allegedly missing.
Sarma posted a screenshot of the Congress’ post on X taking on the party.
‘Seems the Congress party has secretly struck a deal to sell the entire land of the Northeast to some neighbouring country. Is this why Rahul went abroad? Or has the party given membership to Sharjeel Imam (a former student activist jailed under UAP(A) sections)?,’ he was quoted as saying.
Calling upon people to respond befittingly in Lok Sabha polls, Sarma said the Congress has given away the Northeast region to China.
‘ They put out an India map from which the entire Northeast region had been cut off. This is a deliberate anti-national act. The people of the Northeast and across the country should take note of this and give them a befitting reply (in the Lok Sabha elections next year), ANI quoted him as saying.
The Congress posted on X an animated video of famous scene from movie ‘ Deewar’ to portray PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi engaged in a fiery exchange.
In the video PM Modi was reportedly heard saying "I have ED, police, power, money, friends... what do you have?".
