Mumbai: Police apprehended two individuals for pasting stickers featuring Israel's national flag and footprints on a road in Dongri, south Mumbai.

The incident, involving 13 discovered stickers on Nishanpada Road, prompted police intervention to prevent potential clashes between pro-Palestine and pro-Israel groups amid the ongoing conflict and IDF attack on Gaza.

Aiming to forestall confrontation, authorities promptly removed the stickers. Surveillance footage identified and led to the detention of the two individuals responsible for putting up the stickers, said a police officer.

According to police statements, a case was registered against the accused under Section 153-A of the Indian Penal Code. This section pertains to acts that promote enmity between various groups based on religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, and other factors, potentially disrupting harmony.

Despite the case registration, no arrests have yet been made, as confirmed by the official.
