Narendra Modi is still way ahead of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Congress scion Rahul Gandhi as the prefered choice for the Prime Minister's post. A survey by CVoter in four states including Kerala revealed the current PM's popularity.

Four states - Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala and the Union Territory of Puducherry were chosen for the survey. All five regions held Assembly elections in 2021.

While in Assam and West Bengal, Modi remained way ahead of his competitors, in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Rahul Gandhi is not far behind.

43% of the respondents in Assam backed Modi, followed by Kejriwal (11.62%) and Rahul Gandhi (10.7%). A similar trend was seen in West Bengal where Modi led with 42.37%, followed by Mamata Banerjee (26.08%) and Rahul Gandhi (14.4%).

In Tamil Nadu, only 29.56% of respondents chose Modi as the preferred PM. Rahul Gandhi followed close by 24.65% and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee ranked third at 5.23%. Congress has formed an alliance with the ruling DMK party in the state.

Not following the state's chart, the Union Territory of Puducherry had 49.69% of respondents backing Modi. While Rahul Gandhi's acceptance rating was low at 3.22%, 11.8% said they preferred other Congress leaders.

In Kerala, 28% of respondents said Modi is their preferred choice for PM followed closely by Rahul Gandhi at 20.38% and Kejriwal at 8.28%. Gandhi had won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in the state. But, the people had chosen a left-led state government for a second time.
