Bhopal: BJP leader iBhartin Madhya Pradesh Uma Bharti said that she would "remain in the shelter of God" if the new liquor policy by the BJ government in the state gets enacted on January 31.

Demanding to make the policy more stringent, she has decided to stay inside Panchmukhi Hanuman and Durga temple located in Ayodhya Nagar in the capital Bhopal for the coming three days. A liquor shop is located next to the temple too.

"The one to be destroyed is in front (liquor shop), the one from whom to gain power is behind (temple)," ANI quoted Bharti.

She said that she came there because she had a lot of trouble since there is a temple of goddess Durga and Lord Hanuman just 50m away from the Liquor shop and bar.

She related that on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and Navaratri in October 2, a group of women marched against liquor sales. The state government had promised that they would consult on new liquor policy and asserted that revenue from the liquor was not considered as a huge basis of recovery, she said and added that understanding the problems of women, the government also promised to find a way for taverns, Uma Bharti said.

She said that she has full faith in Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

"I have full faith in CM Chouhan, but there is fear that those whom the government consulted may not have created any trouble. Now, I will hear on January 31 what decision the government has taken in the New Liquor Policy," ANI quoted her.

According to her, if the controlled liquor distribution system is implemented as per her instruction, women will support BJP, and the party will register a record just like in 2003.
