Mumbai man who gave credit card details to book cab from Kochi airport loses Rs 2 lakh

Mumbai: A Mumbai man who tried to book a cab online for his Kerala trip has filed a complaint of losing Rs 2 lakh with Santa Cruz police.

In the complaint, a 64-year-old man said that he planned a Kerala trip from November 25 to December 1, and the amenities for the travel like air tickets and hotels were booked online but when tried to book online a cab to pick him and his family from Kochi airport, he found Rs 2 lack was transferred from his account in three transactions.

He said he got the pre-book cab contact from the internet. The complainant said that he gave the credit card details of his wife when the fraudster claimed the man's credit card details, which were earlier given, were not working due to technical reasons. In three transactions being made after giving the credit card details, Rs 2 lakh was transferred from the account, the man said in the FIR.

The complainant, who is into the share market business, realised that he was duped after he received a call from his bank saying they are blocking his card due to suspicious transactions and requested him to approach the local police to file a complaint.
