Nuh/ Haryana: The Haryana Police have formed a special investigation team (SIT) after allegations of negligence arose against its Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Ferozepur-Jhirka. This was on the two charred bodies of men found in a car in Haryana in a case of Rajasthan men abducted by cow vigilantes affiliated to right-wing group Bajrangdal, who burnt them in the car, PTI reported.

In the case, the charred bodies of Nasir (25) and Junaid alias Juna (35), residents of Ghatmeeka village in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, were found inside a burnt car on February 16.

Family members of the deceased had alleged that after they were abducted by cow vigilantes, the CIA team in Nuh district had "colluded" with them. Bajrang Dal activists lynched the two and burnt them along with the car, they alleged.

According to Ismail, brother of Junaid, the victims were taken to a police station after being assaulted, but the police personnel in Nuh refused to take them into custody.

But Nuh Superintendent of Police Varun Singla maintained that the allegations were baseless. But he said, "To probe the allegations against CIA, Ferozepur Jhirka, a special team has been formed led by ASP Usha Kundu."

He added that they are waiting for the Rajasthan Police report so that the role of the CIA team in the matter gets clear.

"If our men are found involved, action will be taken," Varun Singla said.
