Nitish Kumar urges people to boycott weddings based on dowry

Patna: Is there any children if a man marries a man? Asked the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar while coming heavily down against the social evil of dowry system.
Offspring comes into being only through women, he said emphasizing the importance of eradicating the social evil in order to keep birthing happening.
Nitish Kumar was addressing girl students after inaugurating a girl's hostel at the Magadh Mahila College in Patna Monday. He said that the education is one of the mightiest tool to eradicate such social evils and the government is doing best of it to empower girls through education.
Nitish Kumar also urged people to come forward to put an end dowry, the vilest system being practiced in today's society. He wanted people to think of boycotting weddings which are solemnized on dowry.
Kumar said there were very few girl students in engineering and medical courses in his time. "It would look very bad. If a single girl enrolled in the course, everyone would stare at her," he said.
