No Indians reported being trapped in Turkey: Indian ambassador

Ankara: There are no reports of Indians trapped in the earthquake that hit Turkey, Indian ambassador to the country Virender Paul said on Saturday, reports Asian News International.
He said that there were 3,000 people living in the crisis-hit nation, but not many are residing in the earthquake-hit regions, while many have moved out. He said that they were in touch with them, and there was no information about anyone being trapped.
He continued that Indian Army set up a field hospital in Hatay province, and two c-17 aircraft brought medical teams to set up a hospital with 30 beds. When the country's situation is very dynamic, India remains responsive towards the affected people's needs, Paul said.
On Friday, Indian National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) worked with the Turkish Army and rescued an 8-year-old in Turkey. The girl was stuck but alive under the debris of a torn-down building in Nurdagi, Gaziantep in Turkey.
ANI quoted NDRF's tweet, "Hard work & motivation pays; NDRF team in co-ordination with Turkish Army successfully rescued another live victim (Girl aged 8Yrs) @1545hrs at Loc:Bahceli Evler Mahallesi, Nurdagi, Gaziantep, Turkiye."
The force also shared a photograph of ongoing rescue operations there.
As per a Sydney Morning Herald, children were being rescued from rubble in multiple instances, but the death toll passed 24,000 after the worst quakes in two decades happened in the nation.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Adiyaman province and admitted that the government's response was not as fast as it could, despite having the largest search and rescue team.
