Srinagar: J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday allayed fears about potential militant attack in the Union Territory.

He said that there was no need for any panic by anyone living in the region, IANS reported.

Manoj Sinha was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an official function in Baramulla district here.

Security forces including police and paramilitary, according to him, are always vigilant.

However, he wouldn't expand on the strategy adopted to deal with militant attacks on non-locals.

Sinha said strategies in place could not be discussed before the media.

The Lt Governor further said that safety of shrines and religious places— be it church, masjid, temple or gurdwara—were taken care of and he asked people to support the administration.

"All religious places will be protected, but the people also need to play their role in protecting these places," he was quoted as saying.
