Bhopal: An elderly man with a fractured leg was seen being dragged him being sat on a piece of cloth at a hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, a viral video suggested. The cloth was used to move the man since there was no stretcher in the hospital, which is the largest in the district with 1,000 beds, NDTV reported.

According to NDTV, there were complaints from patients that there are no stretchers in the hospital, which was built at the cost of Rs 400/- crore.

A relative of the elderly said that he fell from a bicycle. The man’s foot could be seen plastered. They said they belong to Bhind district, which is around 70km from Gwalior.

According to doctors at the orthopaedic department, 65-year-old Shrikishan Ojha needed to shift to the trauma department, but his daughter-in-law could not find a stretcher. There were two which did not have wheels.

So, she brought a bedsheet and dragged the old to the main door, and via autorickshaw, the man was taken to the trauma care department.

In the hospital, many patients complained about the lack of stretchers, and if there were, they were not in working condition. However, hospital authorities said that they are looking into the matter.
