New Delhi: The officials in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad removed from the voter list the name of a Pakistani woman after it came out the other day, reports say.

After Saba Parveen figured in the voter list, the District Magistrate was mulling over taking action against those responsible for the list, says a report by India Today.

A woman named Saba Parveen, according to District Collector Shailendra Kumar Singh, has been residing in Pakbara Nagar panchayat ever since her marriage with Nadeem Ahmad in 2005.

The report said that Saba Parveen, who is in India on a long-term visa, was included in the voter list for the Nagar panchayat elections in 2017, where her name should not have been as per the rules.

As soon as the anomaly came to light, the Pakistani citizen's name was removed from the list.
