Modi-Yogis photos in garbage cart: UP sanitation worker first sacked then reinstated

Lucknow: Sanitation worker in UP was sacked for finding photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in his garbage cart before reinstating him today.

Uttar Pradesh's civic body Nagar Nigam Mathura-Vrindavan had sacked Bobby, 40-year-old sanitation worker, on Saturday after a photographs of PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath were found in his garbage cart.

According to Bobby, some people approached him and questioned him over the photographs for which he replied he was doing his duty of picking up garbage. On the same, he was summoned by the Nagar Nigam officers who sought explanation from Bobby.

Bobby said he explained to the officers what had happened and made it clear to them what were found in the cart was part of his duty, and was not intentional.

According to municipal corporation officer Dr Karim Akhtar Qureshi, who is the Nagar Swasthya Adhikari, Bobby had apologized for his action before the municipal commissioner Monday, following which he was reinstated.
