Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated development projects amounting to Rs 21,400 crore in Bihar's Aurangabad district during an official function in Ratanwa village on Saturday.

The event witnessed the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Governor Rajendra V Arlekar, Deputy Chief Ministers Samat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with several Union ministers.

This visit marks PM Modi's first to Bihar since the BJP-led NDA returned to power in the state after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, leading the JD(U), exited the Mahagathbandhan.

During the program, Nitish Kumar assured the prime minister of his enduring commitment to the NDA alliance.

PM Modi inaugurated national highway projects valued at over Rs 18,000 crore and laid the foundation stone for a six-lane bridge over the Ganga, set to be constructed parallel to the existing JP Ganga Setu.

He dedicated three railway projects to the nation, including the doubling of the Pataliputra-Pahleja line and a 26-km-long new line between Bandhua and Paimar.

Additionally, the PM inaugurated 12 projects worth over Rs 2,190 crore under the Namami Gange scheme. These projects include sewerage treatment plants in Patna, Sonepur, Naugachia, and Chapra.

Furthermore, he laid the foundation stone for the Unity Mall in Patna, with a cost exceeding Rs 200 crore, aiming to bolster the 'One District, One Product' initiative.
