Paying tributes to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla has written on his Facebook page that Baba Saheb's entire life was devoted to the progress of the country and upliftment of the downtrodden and marginalized sections of the society. Dr. Ambedkar emerged in Indian politics and society at a time when humanity was suffering from discrimination. He gave us a great Constitution based on the ideals of liberty, equality, justice and fraternity. He has given us an invaluable message to keep the nation above caste, creed and party ideology.
Later, Lok Sabha Speaker, Shri Om Birla; Deputy Chairman Rajya Sabha, Shri Harivansh; several union Ministers; Members of Parliament and former Members of Parliament paid floral tributes at the portrait of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar in the Central Hall of Parliament House.
Secretary, General, Lok Sabha, Shri Utpal Kumar and Secretary, General, Rajya Sabha Sabha, Shri P.C. Mody, also paid floral tributes.
The portrait of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was unveiled in the Central Hall of Parliament House by the then Prime Minister, Shri Vishwanath Pratap Singh, on 12 April, 1990.
नई दिल्ली, 14 अप्रैल 2022: भारत के राष्ट्रपति श्री राम नाथ कोविंद ने आज बाबासाहेब डॉ. भीम राव अम्बेडकर की जयंती के अवसर पर संसद भवन परिसर में उनकी की प्रतिमा पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की।
भारत के उपराष्ट्रपति और राज्य सभा के सभापति, श्री एम. वेंकैया नायडू; प्रधान मंत्री, श्री नरेंद्र मोदी; लोकसभा अध्यक्ष, श्री ओम बिरला और कई अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्तियों ने भी बाबासाहेब डॉ. भीम राव अम्बेडकर की प्रतिमा पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की।
डॉ. बी.आर. अम्बेडकर को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हुए लोकसभा अध्यक्ष श्री ओम बिरला ने अपने फेसबुक पेज पर लिखा है कि बाबा साहब का सम्पूर्ण जीवन देश की उन्नति तथा वंचित जनों के उत्थान में समर्पित रहा। भारतीय राजनीति और समाज में डॉ. अम्बेडकर का अभ्युदय ऐसे समय पर हुआ जब भेदभाव से मानवता कराह रही थी। उन्होंने अपनी सम्पूर्ण क्षमता शोषितों के उत्थान एवं दीन-हीन के कल्याण में झोंक दी। हमें स्वतंत्रता, समानता, न्याय और बंधुत्व के आदर्शों पर आधारित महान संविधान दिया। राष्ट्र को सभी पंथ और दलीय विचारधारा से ऊपर रखने का अनमोल संदेश दिया।
बाद में, लोकसभा अध्यक्ष, श्री ओम बिरला; उप सभापति राज्य सभा, श्री हरिवंश; कई केंद्रीय मंत्री; संसद सदस्यों और पूर्व सांसदों ने संसद भवन के सेंट्रल हॉल में डॉ. बी.आर. अम्बेडकर के चित्र पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की।
महासचिव, लोकसभा, श्री उत्पल कुमार और महासचिव, राज्य सभा, श्री पी.सी. मोदी ने भी पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की।
डॉ. बी.आर. अम्बेडकर के चित्र का अनावरण 12 अप्रैल, 1990 को तत्कालीन प्रधान मंत्री श्री विश्वनाथ प्रताप सिंह द्वारा संसद भवन के केंद्रीय कक्ष में किया गया था।
