French President Emmanuel Macron visited the 700-year-old Nizamuddin Dargah in Delhi, on Tuesday evening.

The dargah, located in the heart of Delhi, stands as a testament to India's rich Sufi heritage, with its origins tracing back to the revered Sufi saint, Nizamuddin Auliya, and his disciple, Amir Khusrau.

President Macron spent over half an hour in the shrine and listened to the melodies of Qawwali, a form of devotional music rooted in Sufi mysticism.

Earlier in the day, President Macron was welcomed by President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the two leaders engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between France and India.

President Murmu hosted a grand banquet in honour of her French counterpart, showcasing India's rich culinary heritage and extending a warm diplomatic welcome.
