Primary duty is to expose BJP’s corruption: Stalin tells party workers

Chennai, Vellore: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin told his party members to expose the BJP’s alleged corruption in implementing various schemes.

Stalin was addressing a party event in Vellore on Sunday evening when he took on the BJP, calling for the victory of INDIA alliance, NDTV reported.

‘India's debt burden was only ₹ 55 lakh crore when the BJP assumed power at the Centre in 2014. In BJP's rule, the debt has risen to ₹ 155 lakh crore’ Stalin was quoted as saying.

The chief minister also highlighted the increase in fuel prices between 2014 and 2023.

He called out alleged corruption by BJP citing a CAG report, which pointed out discrepancies to the tune of ₹ 7.50 lakh crore in implementing various schemes.

The primary duty of the party workers is to expose corruption as ‘they are trying to hide such a face of corruption’, he said.

The implementation of GST, according to him, encroached upon the rights of the states.

Questioning the National Education Policy (NEP), he said it could have potential impact on Tamil Nadu’s progress in education, adding that NEET-related suicides are spreading in northern states.

BJP state vice president, Narayanan Thirupathy hit out at Stalin saying ‘if at all any irregularities were there, the CAG has said it's at the state level’, as per NDTV report.

Thirupathy linked fuel price hike to increased LPG users, saying ‘LPG users have increased from 14 crore to 34 crore during the BJP rule and the consequent subsidy and logistics have led to the price hike’.
