New Delhi: Farmers protesting against the contentious laws celebrated Lohri, a traditional regional festival which marks the end of winter, and is a traditional welcome of longer days and the sun's journey to the northern hemisphere.

The farmers burnt the copies of the laws at all borders of Delhi and all locations in Punjab.

Samyukt Kisan Morcha burnt the copies at Sonepat's Kundli.

Farmer leaders Yogendra Yadav and Dr. Darshan Pal took part in the event by putting copies of the laws into fire.

The protesters were heard chanting, "May Lohri fire give sadh-budhi to PM Modi."
