New Delhi: There will be something every day to quench the communal thirst of society. Most of the time it has been done by people who are associated with the far right groups with the intention to create division in society. However provocative they become, it would be accelerating the fervour in people along communal lines.

Now a video is circulating in which a mahant can be heard ranting against the Muslim community in front of a mosque, while a policeman is also seen sharing the screen.

The call for raping Muslim girls and women now became an important slogan in events, where far right wing used to spew communal venom against the Muslim community. Here too, the mahant is seen screaming through a microphone that he would kidnap and rape Muslim girls.

A report suggests that the said hate speech was delivered outside a mosque in Sitapur district, about 100 km from state capital Lucknow, on April 2 by an alleged mahant whose identity is reportedly being probed by the UP police.

In the video, the saffron clad man inside a jeep with a zealous in the voice screams that he would kidnap and rape Muslim women in the public if a Muslim harasses any girl in the area. The mahant's ranting, and cheering raping Muslim girls can be seen welcomed by the crowd, chanting "Jai Shreeram", with the same enthusiasm.

It seems the repeated rape threat targeting Muslim girls and women on social media and with apps like 'bully bhai', the far right groups might be normalising the rape to prepare society feels not guilty in raping Muslim girls and women if such an incident happens.

But the social media on which the video went viral was not so cheerful was the crowd in the video. One of the users identified the saffron clad man as Bajrang Muni. They tagged the video UN human rights body and National Commission for Women, seeking action against the man who promotes rape.
