Resume in the belly, Bengaluru man dresses up as food delivery boy to apply for jobs

A Bengaluru man Aman Khandelwal has gone viral on social media for his out-of-the-box job application. To get the attention of employers, he dressed up as a Zomato food delivery executive and delivered a box of pineapple pastries to startups in the city.

He attached a note to the pastry box which read "Most resumes end up in the trash. But in your belly".

Khandelwal shared pictures of him wearing a Zomato uniform and a box of pastries with the note on Twitter. He wrote: "Dressed up as a Zomato delivery boy, I delivered my resume in a box of pastry."

He followed up with another tweet that stated he is looking for a management trainee or APM role at a good organisation. The applicant shared the link to his LinkedIn profile along with the tweet.

While the images went viral, Twitter users had varying opinions about the job hunt.

Some appreciated the choice of pastry and lauded Khandelwal for not choosing the common chocolate pastries. And others questioned where his resume was in the box.

While most people wished him well to find his dream job, some people criticised his stunt and said this was not the best way to get noticed. Some users called his idea not-so-unique and said this is an imitation of an American guy who delivered a resume to the US.

Zomato, on the other hand, was not impressed and tweeted that "impersonation is not cool". However, the food delivery startup wished him well for "top of the line" execution and "great idea". The company said Aman hopefully landed something meaningful.
