Hiroshima: A robot at the G7 summit's International Media Centre in Hiroshima greeted Indians with India's traditional "Namaste". It also urged Indians to visit Japan and learn about the country's culture, PTI reported.

The Robot said, "I want Indian people to come to Japan and know about Japanese culture."

Meanwhile, G7 appealed to the world for the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and added that it would hold discussions over the same this year. It said that the world must urgently assess the impact of the technology.

The G7, a group of seven leading powers who met in Hiroshima, said that it would set up a working group to deal with a range of issues in the AI tech field, from copyright to disinformation.

G7 said that besides AI, all emerging technologies, including immersive metaverses, must continue to be in line with the shared democratic values of G7. The said values include fairness, respect for privacy and protection from online harassment, hate and abuse, etc.

The ongoing G7 summit mainly aimed at the disarmament and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was invited as the chief guest by the Japanese premier, Fumio Kishida, at the summit, and Modi landed there on Friday.

At the summit, PM Modi listed 10 points call to action to address food, health and development-related issues prevailing in the world at 'Working Together to Address Multiple Crisis' on Saturday.

PM Modi will be in Hiroshima for the G7 summit from May 19 to May 21.
