Chennai: An upset mother in Tamil Nadu's Erod complained that her child was included in six SC students whom the headmistress forced to clean school toilet.

Jayanthi, the mother of a class five student, said the headmistress Geetha Rani picked out only children belonging to the Scheduled Caste to clean the toilet, according to NDTV.

Police are looking for the headmistress of the government school where the students study.

Jayanthi discovered her son's daily toilet cleaning after he got dengue and was hospitalised. The boy reportedly revealed to the mother he was bitten by mosquitos when he was working in the toilet.

Suggesting that the cleaning was going on for long, she said another parent also had seen students coming out of the toilet with stick and mugs.

Students told the parent that their headmistress asked them to clean the toilet, according to Jayanthi.

"40 children study in that class, and most of them are our scheduled castes children. She has asked only our children to do this," she reportedly said.

A case has been registered under the Juvenile Justice Act alongside invoking the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

The head mistress of the panchayat union school at Palakarai where the incident occurred is reportedly absconding.
