New Delhi: The residence of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi in the national capital was once again targeted as two glass panels on the doors were found broken.

Delhi Police reported the incident on Monday, August 14, stating that an investigation was underway to determine the culprits behind the attack. A senior police official revealed that no stones or other objects were found at the scene after the incident. "An investigation is ongoing, and further checks are being conducted by the police," said the official.

Owaisi, who has been a vocal presence in Indian politics, expressed his deep concern over the incident. He asserted that such incidents were becoming frequent and cited a pattern of intimidation.

"Anytime I address important matters in the Parliament, my house seems to come under attack. This is the fourth incident of this nature since 2014," Owaisi stated while addressing the media from his party office.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, Owaisi revealed that he had received a threatening SMS five days prior to the attack. He had promptly reported the threat to the concerned police station, providing them with the sender's phone number and the message content.

However, he expressed his reservations about granting access to his Call Detail Records (CDR), citing concerns about privacy. "It's a right-to-privacy issue. This is the kind of environment the BJP has created in the last nine years," he asserted.

This is not the first time that Owaisi's residence has been subjected to such incidents. In February 2023, his Delhi residence was targeted by unidentified miscreants in the fourth such incident since 2014. On that occasion, Owaisi's domestic help informed him that a group of miscreants had pelted stones, resulting in broken windows.

Furthermore, Owaisi's vehicle also fell victim to an attack earlier this year in Hapur. While returning to Delhi after attending election-related events in western Uttar Pradesh, his car was targeted, resulting in punctured tires. The timely intervention of the Uttar Pradesh Police led to the arrest of three individuals in connection with the attack.
