Students appearing board exams exempted from curfew in Kashmir

Srinagar: Students who are attending the board exams are exempted from the curfew imposed on Kashmir districts where prohibitory order under CrPC section 144 has been in place following the communal tension in connection with the derogatory remarks made by the BJP functionary.
The administration has reopened suspended internet and fixed-line mobile services in Ramban District.
The restorations of the services got implemented after the prohibitory orders were removed.
The officials have not yet relaxed the curfew in Bhaderwah town of Jammu and Kashmir. The restrictions are imposed following communal tension, said the officials. Localities of the Doda and Kishwar district are also facing similar restrictions.
"The situation is well under control and there was no untoward incident reported from anywhere," reported the police officials.
Students attending board exams are excluded and will be permitted entry to the respected centres after cross-examining identity and admit cards.
"As per the directions of the administration, admit cards were treated as curfew-passes to facilitate free movement of the students appearing for class 10 and class 12 board examinations," said Rana Arif from the education department.
All the students and the staff members were able to report in time. There were no complications reported concerning the regulations followed by the curfew.
Police vehicles with a public address system have been advising the residents to stay indoors in Bhaderwah town.
The curfew, according to the police, has been imposed following the massive outrage that has stormed the country backing the statements made by two suspended BJP leaders and social media posts favouring the statements.
