Two brothers from Haryana arrested for killing Indian student in Australia

New Delhi: Police in Australia arrested two brothers from Haryana for allegedly stabbing to death a 22-year-old Indian MTech student in the Melbourne suburb of Ormond.
Victoria Police released details and images of Abhijeet and Robin Gartan before arresting them on Tuesday in New South Wales's Goulburn two days after the incident.
The victim Navjeet Sandhu and the two accused are hailing from Haryana's Karnal.
"Brothers Abhijeet Abhijeet and Robin Gartan were arrested in Goulburn with the assistance of NSW Police," the Victoria Police were quoted as saying.
Sandhu was mediating a dispute between a group of students over rent when he was "fatally stabbed in the chest" by a student, his uncle reportedly said.
A 30-year-old friend of Sandhu’s was also injured in the knife attack.
"Navjeet's friend (another Indian student) had asked him to accompany him to his house to pick up his belongings as he had a car. While his friend went inside, Navjeet heard some shouting and saw there was a fight. When Navjeet tried to intervene asking them not to fight, he was fatally stabbed in the chest with a knife," news agency PTI quoted Sandhu's uncle Yashvir as saying.
Sandhu, a brilliant student, moved to Australia on a study visa one-and-a-half years ago, he added.
His father, a farmer, sold one-and-half acres of their land to fund his education.
