New Delhi: A hashtag demanding the release of Dr. Umar Khalid was seen trending top in India on Friday. The young scholar was arrested by Delhi Police on September 13 after being accused in cases related to the February Delhi violence.
The micro-blogging website was flooding with more than 10k tweets as of 6 pm on Friday.
Twitterati were seen posting Umar's images, excerpts from the talks of the firebrand speaker and statements seeking his release.
Some social media activists were highlighting the alleged discrimination towards the bail pleas of the people who raise their voice against the establishment.
