Union Minister Nitin Gadkari receives death-threat call

Mumbai: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari received a death threat in Maharashtra on Sunday, the Nagpur Police informed. They said that an anonymous person called Gadkari thrice, threatening to kill him and blow up his office, NDTV reported.

Gadkari’s office has lodged a complaint with the police, and they started an investigation on the matter, they said.

Nagpur Deputy Commissioner of Police Rahul Mandane said that the speech analysis of the caller had been completed.

Police said that the threat calls arrived at the minister’s office at 11:25 am, 11:32 am and 12:30 pm.

The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways in India, Gadkari, has a public outreach office in Nagpur, located at Khamla Chowk. The establishment is just a kilometre from his house.
