Woman arrested in murder case raped by police officers in MPtext_fields
Bhopal: The woman arrested in a murder case in Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh, was brutally raped for days by the police officers in charge of the station. The complaint registered says officers raped the twenty-year-old girl by a team of five policemen for about ten days.
The instance took place in Mangwan police station of Rewa district in May. The woman complained to the legal experts, including Judges that the policemen raped her for ten days starting from the very first day they arrested her.
The woman is in prison for a murder case informed the matter to the additional district judge and lawyers team who visited the prisons on October 10th as a part of an inspection. After being taken into custody, the policemen raped the woman for days from the lockup even before registering her arrest, and the instance happened between May 9th and 21st added the woman in her complaint to the additional district judge. A judicial investigation has been launched regarding the complaint.
The police continued their harassment even when the lady tried to stop them by saying she was a woman constable. The woman also said that she had informed the prison warden about the instance three months ago, but no action has been taken yet. The lawyer from the prison investigation team informed that the warden upon questioning has agreed to be aware of the incident for months.
The police say that they arrested the lady on May 21st, but she was into custody on May 9th.
