Yogi to attend Dusshera events at Gorakhpur temple

Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) : UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend traditional rituals of the Vijayadashmi celebrations, during 'Dusshera', at the Gorakhnath temple. The festival will be celebrated from October 17 through 25.

On October 25, Yogi Adityanath will offer prayers in the temple followed by programmes like Kunwari Kanya Bhoj and Tilakotsav, the temple office secretary, Dwarika Tiwari, said.

"He will then take part in the Vijaydashmi Shobhayatra in a rath and will later perform puja of Lord Ram, goddess Sita and Laxman at Ramlila maidan, after offering prayers at Mansarovar temple," said Tiwari.

He appealed devotees to take all precautions during the celebrations in view of Covid situation. All the programmes will be broadcast online. He also said that social distancing and Covid protocols would be followed.

Limited number of people will be allowed to attend the programmes and as for devotees, programmes will be available on social media platforms, media in-charge Vinay Gautam said.
