New Delhi: Delhi's Nand Nagri area witnessed a shocking incident of violence as a twenty-year-old youth was mercilessly beaten and stabbed by a man. The distressing footage capturing the assault has quickly spread across social media platforms.

According to police officials, the victim, identified as Kasim, has been transferred to the AIIMS Trauma Centre for advanced medical treatment. Doctors at GTB Hospital, where Kasim was initially admitted, referred him to AIIMS due to the severity of his injuries. The young man's condition remains critical.

In the video of the incident, Sohaib is seen hitting and stabbing Kasim, who was lying on the road and some women could be heard screaming to save Kasim, while a few passers-by stood watching without offering to help the victim.

As soon as Sohaib left, a large crowd gathered, the video footage showed.

The Nand Nagri police station received a PCR call at 10.37 p.m. on Thursday regarding the incident and the caller informed that the injured was taken to the GTB hospital.

"Immediately, police teams reached the spot and also the hospital and the medico-legal case (MLC) of Kasim was obtained. The injured did not give any statement," the police official said.

"The accused and victim are residents of the same locality. Facts about the incident are being ascertained and a case under section 307 (attempt to murder) is being registered."

The incident is similar to the case of a 16-year-old girl, who was stabbed to death by a 20-year-old in front of the public in Delhi, last month. The murder was caught by a CCTV camera and the video was gone viral.
