Hyderabad: Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, a revered name in socio-political circles and managing editor of The Siasat Daily, breathed his last on Monday during poet-activist Gaddar’s funeral procession in Alwal.
Zaheeruddin Ali Khan was involved in the socio-political realms, particularly in the regions of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, where he played a pivotal role in the Telangana statehood movement.
As the managing editor of The Siasat Daily, Khan wielded his pen to champion accountability in politics and to shed light on the wrongdoings of various political parties. His courageous and unapologetic critique often pushed the boundaries of traditional journalism.
Beyond the realm of journalism, Khan's legacy extended into philanthropy. His Siasat Millat Fund, which donated Rs 4 crores, supported over 22,000 underprivileged students across states.
