Islamabad: Mumbai attack mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, who was granted bail, has now been detained under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) at Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, a media report said Friday.
A government source told Dawn that the government has also decided to appeal in superior courts against Lakhvi's bail.
An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad Thursday granted bail to Lakhvi, who is among the seven people charged with planning and helping to carry out the Nov 26-29, 2008, Mumbai terror attack which left 166 people, imcluding many foreigners, dead and injured hundreds of others.
At the time of the 26/11 attack, Lakhvi was believed to be the operational head of the banned Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT) that is accused by India of carrying out the strike.
