Abu Dhabi: A campaign has been launched in Abu Dhabi in cooperation with the municipalities and the police to keep a check on street vendors.
The Department of Economic Development (DED), Abu Dhabi said it was committed to eliminate all the negative practices that affect the business in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and to maintain the advanced and safe environment.
The campaign resulted in 26 fines, seizure of five vehicles and destruction of a large quantity of seized goods including clothes, vegetables and fruits, Ahmed Tarish Al Qubaisi, acting manager of DED's Commercial Protection Directorate, said.
He said such campaigns will continue ensuring the elimination of such uncivilised practices.
