Riyadh: A Saudi-led coalition fighting the Shia Houthi rebel group in Yemen on Saturday announced the end of a ceasefire that was announced on December 15, 2015.
The coalition cited continued Houthi violations to the truce as a reason to end it, Xinhua news agency reported.
The Houthis continued to carry out missile attacks against Saudi cities and target Saudi positions on the border, in addition to hindering the flow of humanitarian aid to Yemenis, it added
It was enforced upon a request by Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi to reach peaceful solution to the country's conflict.
Saudi Arabia has been leading a war against the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen since March 26, 2015, to bring stability back to the conflict-ridden country.
