Paris: The peace conference planned by France to seek a solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine will not be held as scheduled on May 30, but later this summer, French President Francois Hollande said on Tuesday.

In an interview with Europe 1 radio, Hollande justified the postponement because the US Secretary of State John Kerry will not be able to visit Paris on May 30, the date announced last week by the head of French diplomacy, Jean-Marc Ayrault, EFE news reported.

In any case, he insisted that if France does not assume a strong initiative, settlement building, terrorist attacks and conflicts will continue and the Palestinians will take the case to the UN Security Council.

Hollande said the goal is to create parameters that allow Israelis and Palestinians to meet at the negotiating table.
