Alappuzha/ Kozhikode: A section of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) employees Saturday went on mass leave in Kozhikode and Alappuzha districts in protest against delay in salary disbursement.

The protesters have alleged that though the Transport Minister had offered the salary would be disbursed from Friday, nothing has so far been done in this regard.

According to reports, the protest affected 70 percent of the services in Kozhikode district. In Alappuzha, staff attached to all depots took part in the protest except Chengannur. The staff at Chengannur depot abstained from the protest in view of the Sabarimala season.

Sources said the salaries of at least 35,000 employees across the state are pending since November 29.
