Thiruvananthapuram: Congress, heading the UDF Government in the State, has chalked out extensive programmes to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in the state.

The celebrations would begin with a commemorative meeting at the party state headquarters Indira Bhavan here on November 14, a Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee release said on Monday.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the meet and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala would administer the anniversary day pledge to party workers and functionaries on the occasion.

District, block and village-level units would also organise various programmes for three days. The KPCC would also be celebrating the birth anniversary of freedom fighter and the country's first Education Minister Abul Kalam Azad on November 11.
