Three Keralites killed in Coimbatore car accident

Coimbatore: Four persons, including three Keralites, were killed when a car rammed onto a road side tree at Periyanaickenpalayam, about 25 km from here on Wednesday.

Three persons - a footpath vendor and two women - were killed on the spot while the fourth person died in a hospital here on Thursday.

The deceased Keralites were identified as Ethirpulli Asmabi (60), her daughter Abida, and Abida’s husband Moideen Raj (36).

The occupants of the car were returning to Karamadai, some 35 km from here from Kozhikode in Kerala, when the mishap occurred.

Moideen, who was driving the car, lost control of the vehicle when he tried to avoid a pedestrian and hit the tree.

Under the impact, the two women in the car and the footpath vendor, selling mirrors died on the spot. He was later identified as Saibu (34).
