Kerala police to host national meet on gender sensitization

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala police will host a two-day national conference on gender sensitization and empowerment of women here from November 27.

The event is being organised as part of implementation of the flagship programme on gender awareness.

The conference will aim at sharing the best practices and experience of women police officers in different states regarding the empowerment of women, an official release of the Kerala Police said.

From each state, one woman officer in the rank of Inspector to Superintendent of Police and four women officers in the rank of constable to sub-inspector will be attending the meet, it said.

The participants from various states will make presentation on special policing initiatives in their respective states to deal with crime against women and children.

The best presentation will be given an award, it said.
