Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan Sunday said there would not be any reduction in the bus fares in the state despite the fall in the diesel prices.

“The loss incurred by KSRTC has not been reduced even after the drop in diesel price. So, there will not be any reduction in the bus fares,” he told reporters here.

The Minister, however, said that if the diesel price decreases any further, alterations would be considered with regards to the bus charges.

When asked about the news reports on the Karnataka government’s move for the 'KSRTC' brand, Thiruvanchoor said Kerala government would fight it out legally, adding that “the name KSRTC belongs exclusively to the state.”
